Founded in 1986 by Prof. Samir Aboulazm, the Egyptian Orthodontic Society was the first national orthodontic society of its kind in Egypt.  Together, we are more than 500 educationally qualified orthodontic specialists dedicated to advancing the art and science of orthodontics, improving the health of the public by promoting the quality of orthodontic care, and supporting the successful practice of orthodontics.  Throughout the years, we have facilitated the exchange of best practices and innovations through our engaging learning events. We are always interested in growing our member base, and we always welcome exceptional professionals who share our passion for expert care and education.

The Egyptian Orthodontic Society is a non-profit educational and professional organization. Our society endeavors to maintain a society of exceptional professionals committed to the highest standards of care and continuing education. To maintain these goals, the membership of the Egyptian Orthodontic Society is selective. Members of the Egyptian Orthodontic Society must have at least two academic years of advanced education in an accredited orthodontic program.  This membership implies an obligation for members to practice their profession in accordance with the high standards laid down by the Society.

Each year, the society hosts an annual scientific meeting which exists to provide the best possible continuing dental education addressing the needs of orthodontists. The meeting offers the chance to meet and hear the latest from the most prestigious worldwide researchers in the field. In a dynamic relaxed setting, the scientific meeting usually features lectures and workshops covering a wide variety of subjects.  The meeting has developed a reputation for excellence and hospitality that has continued to grow through the years with every meeting. This ensured the position of our annual scientific meeting as one of the premier orthodontic meetings in the region. Moreover, this event provides an excellent opportunity for members to develop contacts or catch up with old colleagues.

With the richness of the orthodontic profession continuing to grow, new innovations are always in development. For this reason, the Egyptian Orthodontic Society has built a strong network of international orthodontic organizations who value education as the path towards enhancing professional skills and improving patient experiences and outcomes. The Egyptian orthodontic Society is an affiliate organization of the Arab Orthodontic Society, World Federation of Orthodontists, as well as the European Federation of Orthodontics.

Since its inception, the Egyptian Orthodontic Society has aimed to represent the interests of orthodontists and foster their continued proficiency through continuing dental education in order to better serve the public. Furthermore, the society has always been a catalyst for sharing of knowledge and new advancements in the field of orthodontics as well as increasing the national awareness of orthodontics.
